Backyard Harvest Challenge
All over town!
Register
Have a bountiful citrus tree, fragrant herb garden or other backyard produce? Help Each Green Corner reach our goal of gleaning 1,000 lbs of produce from San Carlos gardens during Week of the Family for donation to Second Harvest and Samaritan House! San Carlos-based non-profit Each Green Corner will provide trained volunteers to harvest per your instructions on location and amount, or can pick up pre-harvested produce.
We look forward to this every year and it brings in a TON of citrus and other fruit for our food bank partners: Samaritan House and Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. The Backyard Harvesting volunteer day on the 27th will be volunteers joining us in the Tierra Linda parking lot to receive instructions for either picking up fruit donations pre-harvested by our residential donors, or going out and harvesting from donors trees!

Family Activity Day
All over town!
Since its inception in 1999, the Week of the Family Committee has designated the Monday of the week as a time reserved for families to stay at home and do something specifically with their family. It is hoped that reserving a set time each week for family time will become habit-forming. To show their support, when the event is not on a holiday, San Carlos principals have historically declared Monday, as a "No Homework" night.
Family Activity Day is for everyone. You are encouraged to “adopt” friends and neighbors who would enjoy an evening of family activities.
Ideas for things to do as a family:- Play board or card games
- Get out the family photo album
- Make up a play or story
